So here’s the story of a boy, a boy that never knows how to start anything and usually ends up rambling. My name is Alexander Perrizo, but I’ve had so many nicknames over the years that if you throw out just about anything I’ll probably respond. I was born in Chicago Illinois and even though I moved away from there when I was 8 I still call it home. I have interests in just about anything anyone can bring up, or at least I can feign interest long enough to have a conversation. But my true passions in life are television/movies, my Chicago Cubs, music, poker, soccer, and hockey just to name the ones off the top of my head without getting entirely too personal. I am also a terribly indecisive person which has lead me on a wandering journey through school to find out what I want to do with my life. Recently I have decided I want to work in technology, specifically webTV. I have always had an interest in computers and technology as well as TV and movies, but it wasn’t until I discovered TechTV some years ago that all of that sort of came together for me. It was a television station devoted completely to the technology, new gadgets, new inventions, tech support, and just random whatever from the web usually. This seemed like a great place for me, a world of wacky and weird people that were still sane and had normal jobs. But alas this was short lived as it was bought out by G4 and turned into just another silly television station trying to pander to the youth of America while not actually listening to what the audience wants. All of my favorite personalities and shows began to slowly disappear as the station switched hands and I felt I had lost what once seemed so perfect. But wait! Pan to a few years later where I discovered twit.tv and revision3.com where all of my old favorites and essentially taken that which they had been doing on TV on and moved it to the internet medium, the place where all of their true fans lived. Here I discovered everything I had once loved about TechTV all over again, and got to see how the tech world had evolved and what it was becoming. I was once again enthralled by the experience of people having fun and talking about things I enjoyed. As I said before I had wanted to work in this environment when I was younger, but I was just a high school student then and something new caught my attention every week. I had a myriad of careers in mind of the years, architect, teacher, sports writer, bar owner, restaurant owner, and a few other business that I had cooked up in my mind. But I was getting older and finding that I felt a little lost in the world and needed to really settle myself into something, I had been stuck in the same small Ohio town I’d grown up in for 14 years and needed to go out and experience the world. With this, and a series of random experiences I had this past summer, brought me to OSU and a somewhat vaguely defined idea of what I want to do with my life.%Proxy-Connection: keep-alive

I realize that the specific field I want is elusive and strange so I have tried to broaden my career options. I would love to work at revision3 with my heroes Patrick Norton, Kevin Rose, Alex Albrecht, or Veronica Belmont but to set your sites on one specific job and basing your academic career off that is dangerous so I’ve opened myself to the world of production and business management. With my current goals I will be able to work in TV or movie studios all over working on audio and video editing, and hopefully someday be in charge of divisions of people, if I’m lucky I end up in San Fransisco work at Revision3.
But that is really a story of my life career wise, not who I am. As I said before, I ramble and tend to get side tracked. The story of who I am is really much more simple than that, or I suppose complex if I really wanted to get into the finite details of what I’ve done and how they’ve effected me. But I will spare everyone the mundane details that encompass the past 22 years of my life, instead I’ll throw the cliffnotes at you. I am the youngest of 3 brothers, 1 of which I haven’t seen as much as I’d like in life due to our parents divorce at a young age. My brothers and I were all born in Chicago and are all very big Chicago sports fans, something that keeps us all close. When I was 8 my mom go a new job in Marietta Ohio and thats where I’ve spent the last 14 years. In high school I pefromed in show choir but had many outside interests. I have played rolle hockey every week for 7 years, my friends and I are huge movie and music fans which has lead to many interseting conversations. I also play Ultimate Frisbee, soccer, tennis, poker, basketball, and ran track my senior year.
I’ve spent the last 4 years in and out of community college while working and sorting things out in life. I recently moved up to Columbus to go to OSU and live with 3 of my oldest and best friends. I am a very friend oriented person and love to participate in a lot of group events. I’m also a fairly shy person so it takes a little to get me out of my shell, but once I do I am a completely different and lively person.
I don’t know what else to really say about myself, but I’m sure there is a whole lot more to learn, but I guess thats what getting to know someone is all about.
